Information for Incoming Erasmus Students – Study Mobility

Welcome to İzmir Bakırçay University!
We are pleased that you are considering joining us as an Erasmus+ exchange student.

Erasmus Study Mobility allows students from partner universities to spend a semester or full academic year at our institution, taking courses as part of their degree programme.

Incoming students may:

  • follow undergraduate or postgraduate courses offered in English and Turkish,

  • benefit from academic support and student services,

  • gain international experience and cultural understanding,

  • receive full recognition of completed credits through the ECTS transfer system.

To apply, students must:

  • be officially nominated by their home university,

  • submit the online application and required documents (Learning Agreement, Transcript of Records, proof of language proficiency, and passport/ID copy),

  • obtain approval from the relevant academic department at İzmir Bakırçay University.

Before arrival, accepted students will receive guidance on accommodation, visa processes, course selection and orientation activities.

During the exchange period, students will participate in academic courses, social programmes, and intercultural events organised by our International Relations Office and student clubs.

Information for Incoming Erasmus Students – Traineeship Mobility

Erasmus Traineeship Mobility offers students the opportunity to complete an internship at İzmir Bakırçay University or within our associated units/offices.

Through this programme, trainees gain professional experience in an international environment, develop new skills and improve their career prospects.

Incoming trainees may work in:

  • academic departments,

  • administrative units such as the Erasmus Office, international office, libraries and research centres,

  • specialised laboratories or project groups (depending on availability and field).

To apply, trainees must:

  • be selected and funded by their home university under Erasmus+,

  • contact the relevant unit at İzmir Bakırçay University to discuss placement availability,

  • submit their Learning Agreement for Traineeship and CV for evaluation,

  • complete the required application documents and procedures.

Trainees will receive support regarding arrival arrangements, induction activities, mentoring, and certificate of participation at the end of the mobility period.

By joining our university as an Erasmus Trainee, students can strengthen their academic and professional profile while experiencing Turkish culture and daily university life.
